Questions parents ask
Quick answers
What year group is this for?
Year 5 children sitting the Trafford 11+ in September 2026. If your child is in another year group and you think the paper would still be useful, email us and we will talk it through.
How long does the mock take?
Three hours from arrival to dismissal, including a short comfort break. The paper itself runs to the same timings as the live Trafford 11+.
How is the diagnostic report sent?
By email, within forty-eight hours of sitting the paper. It is a written report covering raw score, percentile against this cohort, a section-by-section breakdown, and Carolyn's commentary on what to work on between now and September.
What does my child need to bring?
Two HB pencils, a sharpener, a rubber, and a water bottle. We provide everything else. No calculators. We do not provide refreshments, so a small snack for the break is a good idea.
My child has access arrangements (extra time, SEN). How does that work?
Tell us at booking. There is a question on the form. Carolyn and David will be in touch directly to confirm arrangements before the day, so the mock matches what your child will have in September.
Can my child sit more than one mock?
Yes. Many families book two, spaced a few weeks apart, so they can see progress between attempts. Book each one separately. The diagnostic report will reflect each sitting.
What if my child is unwell on the day?
Email us as soon as you can and we will move them to another cohort if seats are available. We do not refund no-shows, but we will always try to find another date.
Are the cohorts mixed boys and girls?
Yes. The live 11+ is sat in mixed cohorts, and so is this.
How big are the cohorts?
Each cohort caps at sixty children. The room comfortably holds that with proper spacing. Once a cohort is full, it is full.
How do I pay? Can I get a refund?
Payment is taken at booking by card. Refunds are available up to two weeks before your booked date. After that we will move you to another date if seats remain, but cannot refund.
Who is running this?
CT Tuition (Carolyn Timms) in partnership with Kickstone Learning. Carolyn handles the teaching, marking and pastoral side. Kickstone runs the website, bookings, and the diagnostic report tooling.
Ready to book your child a seat?
Seats are £40 each. Cohorts cap at sixty. Once a cohort is full, it is full.
